INGREDIENTS

  • 6 Tbsp. Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 1 French baguette (about 24-inch)
  • 1 lb. thinly sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 C. shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil

DIRECTIONS

  1. HEAT grill to medium high heat. Combine 4 Tbsp. oil and garlic. Brush liberally on cut sides of bread. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. GRILL bread, cut side down, 1 to 2 minutes until moderately charred. Turn.
  3. ARRANGE tomatoes on bread. Grill, covered, 1 to 2 minutes until tomatoes are softened. Top with cheese, balsamic vinegar, remaining 2 Tbsp. oil and basil, if desired.
