INGREDIENTS
Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 ½ C. all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. cornmeal
2 Tbsp. Spice Islands® Everything Bagel Seasoning
1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
½ C. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
¾ tsp. coarse salt
¾ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
1 C. shredded cheddar cheese
1 ¾ C. buttermilk
3 eggs
½ C. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
DIRECTIONS
Preheat waffle iron.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, seasoning, sugar, corn starch, baking powder, salt, baking soda and cheese.
In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs and oil.
Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir to combine. Do not overmix.
Spray the waffle iron with Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray.
Pour batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook as directed by your waffle iron. Spray each time before adding the waffle batter.
Remove from waffle iron and place on a wire rack.
To serve, top with a sunny side up egg and chopped scallions (optional).
TIPS
TIP: Place a wire rack on a sheet pan and keep it in an oven on 200° F to keep the waffles warm.
