Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 C. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 C. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 C. milk
- 2 tsps. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp. finely grated orange zest
- 2 C. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
Directions
- HEAT oven to 350ºF. Coat baking sheets with no-stick cooking spray.
- BEAT brown sugar and shortening in large bowl with mixer on high speed 5 minutes. Beat in egg, milk, vanilla and orange peel, if desired.
- STIR flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl until blended. Beat into creamed mixture until dough forms.
- SCOOP dough by level tablespoon; drop 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
- BAKE 9 to 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely.
