Buttery Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients
- 4 C. all-purpose flour
- 4 tsps. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 tsps. salt
- 2 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- 1 1/3 to 1 1/2 C. milk
- 2 Tbsps. Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
Directions
- HEAT oven to 425ºF. Combine flour, cheese, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add milk, mixing with fork until particles are moistened and cling together.
- PLACE on a lightly floured surface and knead 4 to 5 times. Roll to 3/4-inch thick. Cut with 3-inch floured biscuit cutter pushing straight down. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- BAKE 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Brush tops with melted butter flavor shortening. Serve warm.
