Chewy Brownie Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2/3 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
- 1/3 C. unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips (2 cups)
- Powdered sugar
Directions
- HEAT oven to 350ºF. Coat baking sheets with no-stick cooking spray.
- BEAT brown sugar, shortening, water and vanilla in large bowl with mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in eggs until blended.
- STIR flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda in medium bowl until blended. Beat into shortening mixture on low speed just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonful 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets.
- BAKE 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are set. Cool 2 minutes on baking sheet. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
- Other combinations of chips may be used, such as 1 C. chocolate chips and 1 C. white chocolate chips, or 1 C. peanut butter chips and 1 C. of chocolate chips, or 1 C. chopped nuts and 1 C. of chocolate chips.
