Chocolate Orange Fondue

Ingredients
- 1/3 C. heavy cream
- 1 1/2 tsps. grated orange peel
- 3 Tbsps. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
- 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsps. orange extract
DIPPING ITEMS
- Pound cake
- OR Angel food cake
- Whole fresh strawberries
- Kiwis
- Pears
- Bananas
- Peeled orange segments
Directions
- BRING cream and grated orange peel to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Reduce heat to low.
- ADD shortening, chocolate chips and 1 Tbsp. orange extract; whisk until mixture is smooth.
- REMOVE fondue from heat and blend in remaining 1 Tbsp. orange extract.
- TRANSFER to fondue pot. Place over candle or canned heat burner. Make sure heat is low.
- SERVE with cake pieces and fruit for dipping.
