Easy Skillet French Fries

Ingredients
- 3 medium or 2 large baking potatoes
- 2 1/2 C. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
- Salt
Directions
- CUT potatoes lengthwise into 1/2-inch wide strips. Place in large bowl of cold water.
- HEAT shortening or oil in 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat 5 to 10 minutes, until oil reaches 360º to 375°F.
- DRAIN potatoes. Pat dry with paper towels.
- PLACE potatoes in hot shortening or oil. Cook 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown, turning 4 to 5 times during cooking.
- REMOVE French fries with slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels. Season to taste with salt. Serve immediately.
