Lemon Frosting

Ingredients
- 1 C. Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening
- 2 Tbsp. lemon zest
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 4 C. powdered sugar, sifted
- 2-4 Tbsp. milk
- 4 drops yellow food coloring, optional
Directions
- In the bowl of a mixer, cream the shortening, lemon zest, lemon juice and salt until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, blending on low-medium speed. The mixture may be crumbly.
- Add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until your desired consistency has been reached.
- Add the food coloring if using.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for a week.
- Mix before using if stored.
