Ingredients
WAFFLES:
- Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray
- 1 ½ C. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- ½ C. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
- 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
- ¾ tsp. coarse salt
- ¾ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
- 1 ¾ C. buttermilk
- 3 eggs
- ½ C. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
- CHICKEN TENDERS & HOT HONEY SAUCE
Directions
WAFFLES
- Preheat waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, corn starch, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
- In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs and oil.
- Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir to combine. Do not overmix.
- Spray the waffle iron with Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray.
- Pour batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook as directed by your waffle iron. Spray each time before adding the waffle batter.
- Remove from waffle iron and place on a wire rack.
- To serve, top two waffles with two chicken tenders and drizzle with hot honey sauce.
HELPFUL TIPS
If needed, keep the waffles warm by placing on a baking rack placed on a baking sheet in a 200°F oven.
