Ingredients

  • Crisco® All-Vegetable Shortening, for frying
  • 9-10 oz. package refrigerated ravioli, any flavor
  • ½ C. all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • ¾ C. Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • ¼ C. shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ C. marinara sauce, heated

Directions

  2. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and water.
  3. In a third shallow bowl, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip ravioli in flour to coat both sides; shake off excess.
  5. Dip in egg mixture making sure all the flour is moistened.
  6. Then place in the bowl of breadcrumbs and coat both sides of the ravioli, patting to help coating adhere.
  7. Place enough shortening in a deep fryer or heavy bottomed saucepan so you have 2-3 inches of oil when melted.

  9. Carefully add the ravioli to the preheated shortening and fry for approximately 2 minutes per side. Do not overcrowd the fryer.
  10. Remove ravioli from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  11. Repeat with remaining ravioli.
  12. Serve with hot marinara sauce.
