INGREDIENTS

WAFFLES:

  • Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 ½ C. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. cornmeal
  • 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • ½ C. Clabber Girl® Corn Starch
  • 1 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
  • ¾ tsp. coarse salt
  • ¾ tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
  • 1 ¾ C. buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ C. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil
  • CHICKEN TENDERS & HOT HONEY SAUCE

 

 

DIRECTIONS

WAFFLES

 

  1. Preheat waffle iron.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, corn starch, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs and oil.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and stir to combine. Do not overmix.
  5. Spray the waffle iron with Crisco® Butter Flavor No-Stick Cooking Spray.
  6. Pour batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook as directed by your waffle iron. Spray each time before adding the waffle batter.
  7. Remove from waffle iron and place on a wire rack.
  8. To serve, top two waffles with two chicken tenders and drizzle with hot honey sauce.

 

CHICKEN TENDERS & HOT HONEY SAUCE

Helpful Tips

If needed, keep the waffles warm by placing on a baking rack placed on a baking sheet in a 200°F oven.
