Ingredients
- 1 C. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp. Clabber Girl® Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 8 Tbsp. (1 stick) Crisco® All-Vegetable Butter Flavor Shortening
- 1/2 C. brown sugar
- 1/2 C. granulated sugar
- 1/2 C. almond butter
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp. Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 C. almond flour
- 1/4 C. dark chocolate, melted
- 3 Tbsp. sliced almonds
- Flaky sea salt
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F.
- Add the all purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and almond flour into a medium bowl and set aside.
- Add the shortening and sugars into a bowl and mix for 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until combined before continuing.
- Add the almond butter until incorporated, then add the dry ingredients in two stages, mixing until completely combined.
- Roll out the dough between two pieces of parchment paper and cut out your cookie shapes using the cookie cutters of your choosing!
- Then place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake cookies for 10-12 minutes.
- The edges of the cookies will be lightly browned – pull the cookies out of the oven. After 2-3 minutes, move the cookies onto a cooling rack until cooled.
- Drizzle melted chocolate on the cooled cookies, add sliced almonds, melted chocolate and finally a touch of flaky sea salt before enjoying!
