Fried Buffalo Shrimp

Ingredients
1 pound large shrimp
4 Tbsp. butter
¼ C. buffalo flavored hot sauce
2 large eggs
¼ C. water
1 ½ C. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. seasoning salt
2 C. Crisco® Pure Canola Oil, for frying
1 lemon wedge
your favorite dressing, for dipping
Directions
- Clean, peel and devein the shrimp. You may purchase shrimp with this step already done if you prefer, however, leave the tails on. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan on low heat, add the butter and hot sauce.
- Using a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the Crisco Pure Canola Oil, heating to 375 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until combined. In a separate large bowl, combine the flour and seasoning salt. Working in small batches, toss the shrimp in the egg mixture, shake off the excess, and toss in the flour mixture.
- Carefully add 6-8 shrimp to the Crisco Pure Canola Oil. After about 2 minutes, turn each shrimp and cook for an additional minute. Carefully remove and continue the process until all shrimp are cooked.
- Before serving, drizzle with the warm sauce. Serve with a lemon wedge and your favorite dressing for dipping.
